Global Thinking • Global Futures
So why is connecting children globally so important? There is no doubt that our children will have different futures to their parents, a future where living in a village, town, city anywhere in the world will be influenced more and more by the actions of others, from the far corners of the world. Ripples glide across waters, thoughts, actions and cause global impact. Understanding our individual part to play in protecting the future for people and places, has become key to the future of the planet. Our children, more than any other generation, have inherited a responsibility that we need to prepare them for.
Making friends around the world will help them to gain empathy and passions for people and cultures. This human connection will naturally lead our children to believe in the preservation of diversity and uniqueness and fight injustice and inequality. Social Networks can be instrumental in acting as agents of change - a phenomenon not seen before.
SuperClubsPLUS.com and GoldStarCafe.net tackle these challenges by opening up the world to our future citizens.
KIDS HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR OBAMA Over 500 UK kids give their views on Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States of America takes his oath. Their words show that they are fed up with racism and poverty and are looking to Obama to drive global change. Hopes are high that America's first black president will "change the difference between black and white" as one school child from England posted on the special Obama Forum. Run by Intuitive Media on one of their safe social networking sites called www.superclubsplus.com, the forum had over 500 kids participating during today's inauguration and in the immediate aftermath. A flavour of the comments coming from 6 to 13 year olds: "I think that Obama will be a new voice not just for America but for the world. He is a leader and I think he will lead the world into a better future. " "Just watched his speech. Unlike loads of other people who make speeches, Obama's was the best. (Look out for Intuitive Media's 30 seconds with the Prime Minister. We gave 7,000 children age 6 to 11 an imaginary 30 seconds in a lift to talk to the Prime Minister and they made very clear demands on the government to do more in a number of key areas. Survey due out February 9th. Please contact us for more information.)
I have come to find that passion is a key ingredient to the study and practice of law and of life. It is with passion, courage of conviction and strong sense of self that we take our next steps into the world remembering that first impressions are not always correct. You must always have faith in people and most importantly you must always have faith in youself

If you are lucky, the passion that drives the rest of your life develops when you are young. Often it appears when a life changing experience occurs. Then there are those wonderful moments when someone walks into your life, who, through action shows you a different path, a signpost to another destination. Why do we leave it to chance, when passion can be the life blood to creating a future you enthusiastically sign up to? It can be done! Through education we can encourage our children to 'get to know and celebrate themselves'. Perhaps we focus too much on children understanding other children, when by understanding their own skills, talents and drivers better, they will be more empathetic towards others. By inspiring our children to develop the skills and talents they are best at, there is a greater possibility of creating confident and competent human beings living with purpose.
